“The remains of the
soldiers -- Pfc. Kristian Menchaca, 23, of Houston and Pfc. Thomas L. Tucker,
25, of Madras, Ore. -- were recovered near a power plant in the town of
Yusufiya, where they had been operating a vehicle checkpoint that came under
attack Friday, Maj. Gen. William B. Caldwell said in a briefing for reporters.
A third soldier, Spec. David J. Babineau, 25, of Springfield, Mass.,
died in the initial assault.
Caldwell declined to
describe the condition of the soldiers' bodies, saying it would be
"inappropriate until I know what the families were told." He said it
was clear that the soldiers had died of wounds suffered in captivity, rather
than at the site of the attack on the checkpoint, but that the cause of death
could not be immediately determined.
According to residents
of Yusufiya and a relative of one of the victims, the soldiers were beheaded.
An Iraqi official said they had been brutally tortured before their death, but
provided no further details. “
"We went ahead
and established a cordon around the area to protect it so it would be
undisturbed at daylight this morning and brought the necessary assets like
explosive ordnances," Caldwell
said. "They did have to dismantle some stuff to get to them.”
The deaths of these two young men occurred in June of 2006,
but there are others like it. Here is the latest US military casualty and there are still two Marines missing. These attacks were allegedly perpetrated by Al Qaeda:

"The U.S. military has said a body pulled from the Euphrates River
near Baghdad on
May 23 was that of one of the three missing soldiers, Private First Class
Joseph Anzack. The body had bullet wounds and signs of torture."
Did you know of the circumstances of the deaths of these two
young soldiers back in June of 2006? Did you know they were tortured and
beheaded? Did you know the body of PFC Joseph Anzack was found with signs of torture?
But where was the outrage by our government officials? Where
was the outrage by the media over the torture?
Can the MSM, the democrats, and liberals of this country
admit that our soldiers and contractors in the Iraqi War Theater are brutalized
and tortured on a routine basis? Why don’t we hear more about this and where is
the world’s outrage when it happens?
Instead we are bombarded by the allegation of torture at Abu
Ghraib and Gitmo. As far as I know no prisoners at Abu Ghraib were beheaded. At
Gitmo, no prisoners are tortured and beheaded. No terrorists’ dead bodies are
then booby trapped after death so that when their comrades come to gather them
up, they are then killed themselves.
Just where is the outrage from the world, our politicians,
and the liberals when they are screaming about the torture of prisoners, false
torture, or uncomfortable situations that are not defined under torture? You
would think that we, the United
States, were responsible for the worst
torture to befall mankind since the beginning of time. What is even more
outrageous to me is the falsity of these claims.
I realize that America
is held to a higher standard than other countries, but I become livid when I
continually see stories about America
torturing these poor, innocent terrorists. But, apparently it is acceptable for
other countries and their terrorists to torture at will. People will say “they
are not held to the same standards as America”. Well, why not? It gets to be fairly ridiculous to hear a terrorist scream torture at the hands of the US government when they practice their barbaric acts openly and arrogantly, and without impunity.
Is it not time that we and the rest of the world hold terrorists and Al Qaeda accountable and insist that they be held to some standard? I suppose since they are a "terrorist group" or "jihadist group" we cannot place a country under fire for their conduct.
But, is it
not past due time that we demand these people be condemned for their acts? The world needs to ban together and condemn these groups for their actions. The condemnation needs to be loud and clear. We need to condemn the Islamic radicals and all who preach that this kind of behavior is acceptable. If the Muslim world wants to be seen as having a peaceful religion, we need to call them on it. The more we allow this to happen, the more it will happen. There is no reason whatsoever for the radical jihadists and terrorists to stop their brutal ways since no one is speaking out. Where is the Muslim community on this? I hear an occasional whimper about it, but basically they remain silent. I see no reason to give them a pass.
