Reality vs. Denial

Look at this picture and REMEMBER.

Some of us have forgotten or have gone back into denial about what happened to us on 9/11. The worst attack on American soil to be experienced by all Americans has become a distant memory to some. Remember the calls and statements made after 9/11, "WE WILL NEVER FORGET"?

How short our memories are! Many of us have forgotten. Indeed many of us, after witnessing this horrendous act of evil and murder on over 3000 our our citizens, believe that the a future attack on us is not possible and that the talk of one is merely to "scare" us.

It took only a few "lucky" or "competent" or "lucky and competent" jihadists to devastate New York City and those who felt the impact of their beloved ones' deaths.

Look at this face and REMEMBER.

How can we forget this? How do people in this country tell themselves that another attack on us is nothing more than a "bumper sticker" or just a reason to get people incited to vote for any war Republican? How do those Americans in this country who believe a terrorist attack is nonsense tell that to the people of New York who lost their family members? Or to the family members who lost loved ones at the Pentagon or in a field in Pennsylvania?

The American people are the most generous and free people in the world. Our country is the most open, free, and giving country on this earth. Yet, people who hate us for no other reason than sheer religious ideology wish to destroy us. These are the same people we have helped with all kinds of aid. These people are fanatics who fight in the name of Allah and raise their fists into the air shouting, "death to America".

I want everyone to look at these pictures again and REMEMBER the horrors of those days afterward of firemen working throughout the night, dragging out the bodies of their brothers.

Look and REMEMBER.

Remember the pictures of the bereft relatives searching endlessly and futilely for their loved ones. They placed pictures in places all over New York City hoping against hope that their loved ones would somehow magically reappear before them. Instead, as the days went on into weeks, we all realized with utter horror that these loved ones would not magically appear, but had instead had been cremated probably and mercifully upon impact.

Look at this woman and REMEMBER.

We know that is not true of all the victims for the bodies fell onto the ground in loud thuds as people jumped from the buildings to escape an agonizing death by fire.

Was this not still real? Look at this picture and REMEMBER.

And, then the buildings collapsed and people ran for their lives as a tsunami of fire, smoke, and the ashes of humans billowed down the streets of New York City.
Look at the picture and REMEMBER.

Look at these faces. The faces of evil, the bearers of all that are death and destruction. Some of them are now gone, but some still remain to deliver a surprise to us. And some who are not on this photo whose names we do not even know as yet.

Who will it be and how will it come? Remember we are still at war. A global war that hangs over us while we play our video games, shop for that next electronic gadget, root for that next hometown football team. While we cannot stop doing our daily activities and routines for that would be despair, we must remember and recall that this war is not finished. The global jihadists are waiting like the tiger in the tall grass, crouching, watching, smelling, the first scent that we are ripe for the taking. We need to keep our eye on the tiger.
